Catherine Newman

Catherine Newman published essays and articles in the New York Times, O, The Oprah Magazine, The Boston Globe, Real Simple, and other publications. She served as an etiquette columnist for Real Simple and as editor of the nonprofit children’s cooking magazine ChopChop, which received a James Beard Award. Her books include Waiting for Birdy (2005), Catastrophic Happiness (2016), and the novels We All Want Impossible Things and Sandwich. Her Motherlode columns in the New York Times appeared twice on the paper’s best-of-the-year lists.
