Carlo Collodi

Carlo Collodi, whose real name was Carlo Lorenzini (1826–1890), was an Italian writer and journalist. His pseudonym was derived from Collodi, his mother’s birthplace. He is best known for “Le avventure di Pinocchio” (“The Adventures of Pinocchio”), which first appeared as serialized stories in a children’s magazine in 1881 and was published in book form in 1883.
