Author · 2 books

Carl Seelig (1894–1962) was a cultural journalist and writer from Zurich. Particularly during the period of exile after 1933, he supported numerous authors. He is also known as Robert Walser’s friend and guardian: after Walser was admitted to a psychiatric institution, Seelig accompanied him on numerous walks, later documenting them in the book “Wanderungen mit Robert Walser” (“Walks with Robert Walser”). He also reissued Walser’s work. Seelig’s estate contains more than 9,000 letters from figures in the arts, culture and sciences.
