Care Santos, born in 1970 in Mataró, Spain, studied law and subsequently worked for various media companies. She published her first novel, “Cuentos cítricos,” at the age of 25. Since then, she has published more than 40 books, including novels, short stories, and young adult fiction. Her work has received several Spanish literary awards, including the Ciudad de Alcalá Literature Prize in 1995, the Ana María Matute Short Story Prize in 1998, and the Ateneo Joven de Sevilla in 1999. In 2004, she received the Gran Angular Award for “Los ojos del lobo,” and in 2009 the El Barco de Vapor Award for “Se vende mamá.”
