Cao Wenxuan

Cao Wenxuan, born in 1954 in Yancheng, Jiangsu, China, is a Chinese writer and author of books for young readers. He was a professor of Chinese literature and children’s literature at Peking University. In 2016, he received the Hans Christian Andersen Award, becoming the first Chinese author to receive this major international prize for children’s literature. His works have been translated into English, French, German, Japanese, Korean and other languages.
