Burkhard Weitz

Burkhard Weitz, born in 1965, is a German theologian and journalist. As a child, he lived for four years in Bethlehem, Palestine. He studied theology in Bielefeld, Hamburg, and Amsterdam, as well as comparative religious studies in Philadelphia. During his training for the ministry, he taught religious education at secondary schools. From 1999 onward, he worked as a journalist, first for the Deutsches Allgemeines Sonntagsblatt and, from 2000, for the Protestant magazine Chrismon. In 2006, he took responsibility for the subscription edition Chrismon Plus. He has also written reviews of theological works, newspaper articles, and contributions to edited volumes.
