Burghart Schmidt

Burghart Schmidt (born in 1942) is a German philosopher. He initially studied biology, chemistry and physics, followed by philosophy and art history at the University of Tübingen. From 1968 to 1997, he worked there as a research associate and contributed to the publication of Ernst Bloch’s collected works. He later served as a professor of language and aesthetics at the Hochschule für Gestaltung Offenbach am Main and as a professor at the University of Hanover.
