Bruno Bettelheim

Bruno Bettelheim was born in Vienna in 1903 and emigrated to the United States in 1939. He was a professor of education, psychology, and psychiatry at the University of Chicago. A child psychologist, he published numerous books on child-rearing. Bettelheim died in Silver Spring, Maryland, in 1990.
