Brigitte Fassbaender is a German singer, voice teacher, and director. She received numerous honors, including an ECHO Klassik for lifetime achievement, and was admitted to the Order Pour le Mérite. After ending her singing career, she worked as a voice teacher and director. From 1999 to 2012, she served as artistic director of the Tyrolean State Theatre in Innsbruck; from 2009 to 2017, she led the Richard Strauss Festival in Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
