Brian Jacques

Brian Jacques was born in Liverpool in 1939 and died there in 2011. Before becoming a writer, he worked in a variety of occupations, including sailor, dockworker, long-distance driver, police officer, firefighter, bus driver and entertainer. He became best known for the children’s fantasy series Redwall, whose first book was published in 1986. Jacques originally wrote the opening novel for children at a school for the blind. The series comprises numerous books with changing main characters and sold millions of copies worldwide.
