Billy O’Callaghan (born 1974 in Cork, Ireland) is an Irish writer. His bibliography includes four short-story collections and four novels. His work has been translated into numerous languages. The title story of his collection “The Boatman” was shortlisted for the Costa Short Story Award and received the Bord Gáis Energy Irish Book Award. His novel “Die Liebenden von Coney Island” was nominated for the Royal Society of Literature’s Encore Award.
