Bill Watterson

Bill Watterson (born William B. Watterson II) was born in Washington, D.C., in 1958. He is an American author and cartoonist. After graduating with a degree in political science in 1980, he briefly worked as a political cartoonist. He became known for the newspaper comic strip “Calvin and Hobbes,” which ran from 1985 to 1995 and was published in newspapers around the world. Watterson ended the strip by his own decision and rejected the licensing of his characters for merchandise.
