Bill McKibben (born 1960 in Palo Alto, California) is an American author and environmental activist. He has published more than a dozen books, including The End of Nature, an early work that warned the public about the consequences of the climate crisis. McKibben founded the international climate organization 350.org. His work has been recognized with, among other honors, the Gandhi Prize, the Thomas Merton Prize, and the Right Livelihood Award, sometimes known as the Alternative Nobel Prize.
