Bettina Matthaei

Bettina Matthaei is a cookbook author who has also worked as a food journalist, graphic designer and animation filmmaker. She has published numerous cookbooks, including *Gemüse kann auch anders*, *Thailand* and *Vegetarisch vom Feinsten*; several of her books have received awards. Spices and their combinations are a central theme of her work. For the Hamburg spice manufacturer 1001 Gewürze, she developed spice blends for a range of culinary and hospitality clients and led spice workshops. Her travels to various spice-producing regions around the world informed her recipe ideas.
