Bettina Hoppe

Bettina Hoppe, born in Nairobi, Kenya, in 1974 and raised in the Palatinate, trained as an actress at the Hochschule der Künste in Berlin. She worked at venues including the Deutsches Theater Berlin and the Maxim Gorki Theater, was a permanent ensemble member of the Schaubühne Berlin, and performed at Schauspiel Frankfurt until 2014. In 2017, she joined the Berliner Ensemble. Her acting has received several awards; in 2011, she was named Best Actress at the Hessian Theatre Days and nominated for the Der Faust theatre award. As an audiobook narrator, she has recorded works by Ann Petry, Judith Schalansky and Juli Zeh.
