Bernd Kohlhepp

Bernd Kohlhepp (born 1962) was born in Switzerland. He worked as a cabaret performer, actor, author, musician and audiobook narrator, and was also active in improvisational theatre and pantomime. He began his career in the 1980s as part of the duo “Vis a Vis”, which performed, among other places, in Russia and Central Asia. The Swabian character Herr Hämmerle, portrayed by Kohlhepp, became widely known through the SWR series “Hämmerle & Leibssle”. He also appeared in the television programmes “Die Sendung mit der Maus” and “Die Sendung mit dem Elefanten”. His audiobook adaptations and interpretations received, among other distinctions, the Preis der Deutschen Schallplattenkritik and several cabaret awards.
