Bernd Beyer was born in Cottbus in 1955 and grew up in Forst (Lausitz). After training as an electrical signal mechanic, he joined the police and rose to the rank of Polizeihauptkommissar, a senior police rank. He worked for the Central Police Service and later for Brandenburg’s State Office for Social Affairs and Supply. He also studied at a military academy and earned qualifications in telecommunications engineering, electrical engineering, and business management. As an author, Beyer wrote poetry, short stories, cabaret texts, and a novel. His writing includes works for children and young adults as well as for adults. He co-founded the Brandenburg Authors’ Round Table and was a member of the Freier Deutscher Autorenverband, the Association of German Authors.
