Bernard Maris (1946–2015) was a French economist, journalist, and author. He published more than a dozen books on economics, as well as three novels and two essays. He also wrote for several magazines, including Le Figaro, Le Monde, and Charlie Hebdo, where he often used the pseudonym Oncle Bernard. In 2011, he became a member of the supervisory board of the Banque de France. Maris was killed on 7 January 2015 in the terrorist attack on the Charlie Hebdo editorial office.
