Becky Smethurst

Becky Smethurst is a British astrophysicist, author and science communicator. She has worked as a researcher and research fellow at the University of Oxford and was part of the scientific team behind the Galaxy Zoo platform. Her research has focused on galaxy evolution and the growth of supermassive black holes. She is also known for her YouTube channel, “Dr Becky,” which explains topics in astrophysics for a broad audience. She has described black holes as her particular scientific passion.
