Beatrix Gerstberger

Beatrix Gerstberger, born in 1964, worked as a freelance writer for the magazines Brigitte, Stern and Geo. She became known for her SPIEGEL bestseller Keine Zeit zum Abschiednehmen, which recounts the early death of her partner and the life stories of other young widows. The book was inspired by a six-month stay in a lobster-fishing village in Maine, where she lived about 20 years ago and learned about the experiences of the local people.
