Barbara Tuchman

Barbara Tuchman (1912–1989) was an American historian and bestselling author. She received the Pulitzer Prize in 1963 for »August 1914«. In 1972, she won the Pulitzer Prize a second time for »Sand gegen den Wind: General Stilwell und die amerikanische Politik in China 1911–1945«. Among her other well-known works is »Der ferne Spiegel«, first published in 1978.
