Barbara Schinko, born in Austria in 1980, studied international economic relations in Eisenstadt, Dublin and Prague. She wrote romance novels for young adult and adult readers as well as children’s and young adult books, including fantasy novels. Several of her novels were published in translation, and she also contributed to magazines and anthologies. Her work received several awards, including the Austrian Children’s and Young Adult Book Prize and the Children’s and Young Adult Book Prize of the City of Vienna. Her young adult novel “Schneeflockensommer” received both awards.
