After extended periods of study in Italy and East Africa, she worked from 1990 as a freelance author and translator as well as a technical editor. Her publications appeared in books, magazines, encyclopedias, and exhibition catalogues, covering subjects including cultural and scientific history, education, psychology, and various countries and regions.
