Barbara Piatti

Barbara Piatti (born 1973) is a Germanist, literary scholar and cultural historian with a doctorate. She has worked at institutions including ETH Zurich and Stanford University, conducted research at Charles University in Prague, and was a fellow at the Wissenschaftskolleg zu Berlin. In 2013, she founded a company for cultural projects. Her work focuses particularly on Swiss cultural history and literary geography. Her books include *Von Casanova bis Churchill. Berühmte Reisende auf ihrem Weg durch die Schweiz* (*From Casanova to Churchill: Famous Travelers on Their Way Through Switzerland*). Piatti is the daughter of graphic designer Celestino Piatti and received the 2023 Culture Prize of the Canton of Basel-Landschaft.
