Barbara Ostrop (born 1963) is a qualified translator and author. She began working as a literary translator in 1993 and has translated more than one hundred books, primarily novels, from English into German. Her areas of focus include romance and family fiction, crime and thrillers, historical fiction, young adult literature and fantasy. Her own publications include the novel *Ein Garten voll Glück* (2017) and several short stories. In 2022, she received the Putlitzer Prize for a short story.
