Barbara Honigmann, born in East Berlin in 1949, is a German writer. Before pursuing her literary career, she worked as a dramaturge and director. In 1984, she emigrated to Strasbourg with her family. Her notable works include *Damals, dann und danach*, *Alles, alles Liebe!*, *Ein Kapitel aus meinem Leben*, *Das Gesicht wiederfinden*, *Chronik meiner Straße*, *Georg*, and *Unverschämt jüdisch*. Her work has received numerous awards, including the Heinrich Kleist Prize, the Max Frisch Prize of the City of Zurich, the Jakob Wassermann Prize, the Jean Paul Prize, the Konrad Adenauer Foundation Literature Prize, the Goethe Prize of the City of Frankfurt, and the Friedrich Schiller Prize.
