Barbara Frfr. von Bechtolsheim

Barbara von Bechtolsheim studied literary studies, psychology, philosophy and biology in Bonn, Munich and Stanford. She worked as a translator and lecturer in literature. Her translation career began in 1988 and included contemporary fiction, among others works by Mavis Gallant, Toni Morrison and Joyce Carol Oates, as well as biographies and nonfiction. Her translations include Alain de Botton’s *The News* (*Die Nachrichten*).
