Aurora is a physicist and materials scientist with a Ph.D. in theoretical physics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Her research covered both high-energy physics and quark-gluon plasma, as well as wide-bandgap semiconductors—particularly Al(Ga)N—and their use in electronic devices. She held research and teaching positions, including work associated with CERN and the Large Hadron Collider. Aurora published scientific research and authored books on particle colliders and Al(Ga)N-based devices.
