Atsushi Ohkubo

During his time at a technical college, Atsushi Ohkubo worked for two years as an assistant to manga artist Rando Ayamine, illustrator of »Get Backers«. In October 2000, Ohkubo won second place in the 3rd Enix Shinseiki Manga Prize with »Ichizen no Hone«, then made his debut in the magazine »Shonen Gangan«. His first series, »B-Ichi«, began in 2001 and was completed in four volumes. From 2004 onward, he published »Soul Eater« in the same magazine; it became his best-known work. His first art book, »Soul Eater Soul Art«, was published in 2012. The manga also inspired an anime series of the same name and was completed in 25 volumes.
