Asfa-Wossen Asserate

Asfa-Wossen Asserate (born 1948 in Addis Ababa) is the great-nephew of Haile Selassie, the last emperor of Ethiopia. He studied history and law in Tübingen and Cambridge and earned a doctorate in Frankfurt am Main. He subsequently worked as a journalist, as head of press for the Düsseldorf trade-fair company, and as a business consultant for Africa and the Middle East. He became particularly known for his book »Manieren« (2003), which received the Adelbert von Chamisso Prize in 2004. His other publications include »Draußen nur Kännchen. Meine deutschen Fundstücke« (2010).
