Anthony Horowitz, born in 1956 in Stanmore, England, is a British author and screenwriter. He is particularly known for the Alex Rider series of young adult spy novels. His other works include crime novels and novels featuring Sherlock Holmes and James Bond. He has also written plays and screenplays for film and television, including work on the series Midsomer Murders, and created the award-winning series Foyle’s War. Horowitz has been a devoted Sherlock Holmes fan since his youth.
