Anthony Doerr, born in 1973 in Cleveland, Ohio, is an American writer. His works include the story collection The Shell Collector and the novels About Grace and All the Light We Cannot See. For the latter, he received the Pulitzer Prize in 2015. The novel has been translated into more than 40 languages. Doerr has received the O. Henry Prize four times and the Pushcart Prize three times. In 2007, the British literary magazine Granta included him on its list of the “21 Best Young American Novelists.”
