Anselm Haverkamp taught English at New York University in New York from 1988 onward and later became an honorary professor of philosophy at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich. His writings address conceptual questions in rhetoric, aesthetics, and epistemology. His publications include “Theorie der Metapher” (1983), “Figura cryptica” (2002), “Latenzzeit” (2004), “Shakespearean Genealogies of Power” (2011), “Baumgarten-Studien” (2014, with Rüdiger Campe and Christoph Menke), and “Fernahnend: Hölderlin und Keats” (2020).
