Annette Roeder was born in Munich in 1968 and studied architecture. She went on to work as an illustrator and author, primarily of books for children and young adults. She published numerous picture books, children’s and young adult books, as well as nonfiction on art and architecture; she also wrote novels for adults. Her best-known works and series include The Krumpflinge, Rosa Räuberprinzessin, and 13 Bauwerke, die du kennen solltest. Roeder is the mother of three children.
