Annette Hess

Annette Hess was born in Hanover in 1967. She initially studied painting and interior design before studying dramatic writing at the Hochschule der Künste Berlin. She worked as a freelance journalist, a program and directing assistant in television, and a script editor for production companies and broadcasters. From 1998 onward, she worked as a screenwriter. She became known for the television series »Weissensee«, »Ku’damm 56«, and »Ku’damm 59«. Her work has received, among other honors, the Grimme Award, the Frankfurter Autorenpreis, and the German Television Award. »Deutsches Haus« was her first novel.
