Anne Dufourmantelle

Anne Dufourmantelle (1964–2017) was a French philosopher and psychoanalyst. She received the Académie française’s prize for her doctoral dissertation, *The Prophetic Vocation of Philosophy*. She also worked as a publishing editor and programme director at several publishing houses. Her books explored subjects including childhood and motherhood, philosophy and sexuality, tenderness and risk. She drowned in 2017 while attempting to rescue two children in the Mediterranean.
