Anna Mitgutsch (born 1948 in Linz) is an Austrian writer. She studied German and English and taught German language and literature as well as American literature at universities in Austria and the United States, including in Boston from 1979 to 1985. She translated poetry, wrote essays and ten novels, which have been translated into several languages. Her work has received, among other distinctions, the Solothurn Literature Prize and the Adalbert Stifter Prize.
