Anna Henkel

Anna Henkel (born 1977) is a German sociologist. She studied economics and earned her doctorate on the sociology of pharmaceuticals. Since 2019, she has held the chair of sociology, specialising in the sociology of technology and sustainable development, at the University of Passau. Previously, she was a junior professor of social theory at the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg and a professor of cultural and media sociology at Leuphana University Lüneburg. Her research interests include sociological theory, the sociology of knowledge, materiality, technology and sustainability, as well as agricultural sociology and digitalisation.
