Anna Dimitrova

Anna Dimitrova was born in Sofia in 1998 and moved to Germany with her family at the age of twelve. She studied screenwriting at the University of Television and Film Munich and subsequently worked as a freelance writer. In 2018, she received the ProSiebenSat.1 Mainstream Prize for a sitcom concept; she has also received, among other distinctions, the First Steps Award. Her work humorously explores experiences between Bulgarian and German cultures. Her debut novel, “Kanak Kids,” was nominated for the German Children’s and Young Adult Literature Prize. Her young adult novel “People Pleaser” received the Paul Maar Prize for new talent.
