Anke Bastrop

Anke Bastrop, born in Halle (Saale) in 1982, first trained as a bookseller. She then studied German and journalism, as well as literary writing at the German Literature Institute Leipzig. Her poetry debut, *Pyrit*, was published by Verlagshaus Berlin in 2013. Bastrop’s work has appeared in literary journals and anthologies, and she co-edited *Tippgemeinschaft* (2009) and the anthology *Kein Hügel für die wilden Pferde* (2010). Her work has received, among other distinctions, a working grant from the Cultural Foundation of Saxony and a residency grant from the Goethe-Institut in Zagreb.
