Angaangaq

Angaangaq (born 1947) belongs to the Kalaallit people of West Greenland. He bears the honorific title “Angakkorsuaq,” meaning “Great Shaman,” and has been described as an elder and healer. According to the publisher’s biography, his mother and grandmother prepared him for this role from childhood. He represented Indigenous peoples internationally and combined scientific knowledge with the traditional knowledge of the Kalaallit in his work.
