Andri Snaer Magnason

Andri Snær Magnason (born 1973 in Reykjavík) is an Icelandic author and director. He has published children’s books, plays, poetry, novels and nonfiction, and his work has been translated into around 30 languages. As an environmental activist, he took part with Björk in the 2008 protest concert “Náttúra” and wrote the “Letter to the Future” for the memorial plaque commemorating Okjökull, Iceland’s first glacier lost to global warming, in 2014. He stood as a candidate in Iceland’s 2016 presidential election. His literary work has received, among other honors, the KAIROS Prize. His novel “LoveStar” won the Icelandic Booksellers’ Prize and the Prix de l’Imaginaire and received a special mention from the Philip K. Dick Award.
