Andrew Solomon is an American author and journalist. He studied at Yale University and the University of Cambridge and wrote for publications including The New Yorker, Newsweek, and The Guardian. His book about depression, The Noonday Demon (German: »Saturns Schatten«), received the National Book Award for Nonfiction in 2001 and was nominated for the Pulitzer Prize. He received the National Book Critics Circle Award in 2013 for Far from the Tree and the ITB BuchAward in 2019 for Far and Away.
