Andreas Kilian is a historian and author. Since 1992, he has focused on the history of the Jewish Sonderkommandos in Auschwitz-Birkenau. He formerly worked as a freelance contributor for the International Youth Meeting Center in Auschwitz, Steven Spielberg’s Visual History Foundation, and the Claims Conference’s forced-labor fund. Kilian has authored or edited around 90 publications on the subject. His works include the monograph “Zeugen aus der Todeszone” (2002); he also served as a scholarly adviser to the television documentary “Sklaven der Gaskammer” (2000).
