Andreas Blank is a philosopher who worked as a Privatdozent and research associate at the University of Paderborn. He was also a visiting fellow at the Center for Philosophy of Science at the University of Pittsburgh and the Cohn Institute for the History and Philosophy of Science at Tel Aviv University, and served as acting professor at the University of Hamburg. His publications include “Der logische Aufbau von Leibniz’ Metaphysik” (2001), “Leibniz: Metaphilosophy and Metaphysics, 1666–1686” (2005), “Biomedical Ontology and the Metaphysics of Composite Substances, 1540–1670” (2010), and “Ontological Dependence and the Metaphysics of Individual Substances” (2015). He also edited “Animals: New Essays.”
