Andrea Schmidt is a typographer, designer, and publisher. From 2005, she worked with Dominik Ziller and Johannes Frank at Verlagshaus Berlin. She taught as a lecturer and guest professor at institutions including FH Potsdam, Berlin University of the Arts, and CAA Hangzhou. Between 2008 and 2010, she conducted research on multilingual typography at the design2context institute of Zurich University of the Arts. Schmidt co-edited the books “typoversity 1” (2011) and “typoversity 2” (2013), which received recognition from the European Design Award and the Type Directors Club New York. She also illustrated “The Pity of War,” featuring poems and letters by Wilfred Owen, and “Runen” by Alexander Graeff. “The Pity of War” was selected as one of the “Most Beautiful German Books” of 2015.
