Andrea Köhler (born 1957) studied German and philosophy. From the mid-1980s onward, she worked as a journalist, essayist, and literary critic. From 1991 to 1994, she was a cultural correspondent in Paris; in 1995, she joined the features section of the Neue Zürcher Zeitung. From 2001 to 2018, she reported for the NZZ as a cultural correspondent in New York. In 2003, she received the Berlin Prize for Literary Criticism. Her books include Lange Weile. Über das Warten, Scham (2017), and Vom Antlitz zum Cyberface (2024).
