Amir Hassan Cheheltan

Amir Hassan Cheheltan was born in Tehran in 1956. He studied electrical engineering in England and Iran and took part in the Iran-Iraq War. An Iranian writer, he published novels, collections of short stories, and essays. His works include the Tehran trilogy—"Tehran, Revolution Street," "Tehran, Apocalypse," and "Tehran, City Without a Sky"—as well as "The Calligrapher of Isfahan" and "The Circle of Literary Enthusiasts." His first novel, "Rowdeh-ye Qāsem," was initially banned in Iran and later published in a limited edition. Cheheltan and his translator received the International Literature Award of the House of World Cultures in 2020 for "The Circle of Literary Enthusiasts."
