Alois Halbmayr (born 1961 in St. Johann/E. in Lower Austria) is a theologian. He studied theology in Salzburg and Tübingen, earned a doctorate in theology, and completed his habilitation in 1997 with a study on the relationship between God and money. At the University of Salzburg, he taught systematic theology and served as dean of its Faculty of Theology. His work addressed the relationship between religion and economics, Christianity and modernity, and contemporary theological questions.
