Alina Lindermuth was born in Villach, Carinthia, in 1992. After finishing school, she went to India and subsequently studied South Asian studies, business administration and economics in Vienna and Singapore. She has written since her school days and has also performed at poetry slams. Her short story “Zum Schreien” received the Bachmann Youth Literature Prize in 2010. Her debut novel, “Die Wahrscheinlichkeit des Zufalls,” was published by Text/Rahmen Verlag in 2020. In 2022, Lindermuth was a writer in residence in Sri Lanka, held a fellowship at the Workshop for Young Literature and received the Special Prize of the Wiener Werkstattpreis.
